Kara Hogan grew up in northern Cape Breton on the beautiful Cabot Trail. After graduating high school, she decided to move to Halifax to pursue her studies. A year later Kara decided to take the massage therapy program at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH). Kara saw how massage therapy could help people in their health care journey and knew it was the career for her.
While attending CCMH Kara quickly found areas of interest in the field of massage. Two of these areas of interest came from participating in Sports and Neurology community outreach clinics. Sports clinic dealt with athletes and their injuries while neurology clinic dealt with neurological conditions such as MS, and fibromyalgia. She found it extremely rewarding to see the relief given to patients after their massage, especially during neurology clinic.
As a clinical massage therapist Kara likes to treat a variety of conditions such as sports injuries, whiplash, TMJD, pregnancy and many more. She uses a variety of techniques alongside of homecare exercises to make sure patients stay in their best health.
Along with certificates in Sports and Neurology clinic Kara also holds certificates in a taping and prophylactic support course and Neurokinetic Therapy level 1. In the near future she hopes to take courses on fascia, pregnancy, TMJD and K-taping.
