Plantar Fasciitis


What Is It?



     Plantar Fasciitis is inflammation of the Plantar Fascia - a thick, fibrous band of tissue located on the bottom of the foot. The Plantar Fascia connects the heel to the toes, and plays an important role in arch support.   
 

What Causes It?



Plantar Fasciitis has many causes, the most common being overuse due to excessive physical activity or exercise.  Inadequate footwear is also a common cause, especially if a large amount of activity is being performed with footwear that lacks proper support or cushioning.
