Full Time Position: Chiropractic Health Assistant and Office Administrator 

Village Wellness is seeking a joyful, excited and reliable individual to take on a central leadership role on our team and share our mission in serving the healthcare needs of our community. Village Wellness is a family centered Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and Naturopathic practice located in Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia which focuses on expanding vitality and wellness for families in our local area. Together we work on promoting how to improve your personal health by achieving goals in nutrition, exercise, mental health and removal of lifestyle barriers, with a strong emphasis on prenatal, pediatric and family care. 

Role and Duties:

  • Maintain a positive attitude and serve with purpose
  • Greet patients and staff in a helpful and courteous manner
  • Prepare office for the daily functions
  • Book appointments in person, over phone, via email
  • Billing and collections transactions
  • Filing paperwork
  • Direct patients as necessary
  • Maintain appearance of reception area and treatments rooms as necessary
  • Decorate the office for holidays and family centered events
  • Answer general inquiries about healthcare services
  • Follow up with patients about booking and maintaining appointments
  • Manage patient care plans and financial plans
  • Accounts receivable review / management
  • Communicate with insurance providers regarding care plans and financials
  • Be a central point of communication between clinic owners, clinic staff and patients
  • Promote and represent the clinic and a healthy lifestyle in a professional manner
  • Be comfortable with chiropractic, massage and naturopathic vernacular, promote our services and be an advocate of local healthcare services
  • Assisting doctors in computerized data acquisition with hands on computer analysis for patients (spinal scan +, training provided)
  • Comfortable communicating with other businesses as a community liaison partner
  • Offer creative contribution to expanding our mission and reaching more families
  • Use discretion and confidentiality at all times 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Verbal and written competency in English
  • Must be very competent in computer use of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn industry specific software programs
  • Flexibility to cover additional holidays and sick days of co-workers is an asset
  • Must have evening availability at least 2 days/week
  • Knowledge and experience in chiropractic and/or natural healthcare is required
  • Knowledge of St. Margaret’s Bay / Tantallon and area is an asset
  • Must be willing to learn, be personable and have a happy disposition
  • Must be health conscious
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast pace environment
  • Must be very detail oriented and organized
  • Must be good with children, have a caring disposition and love to have fun
  • Must have potential for long term dedication to the role

Compensation and Hours

  • Rate of pay $18-20/hour to start depending on previous experience in industry
  • 32 – 40 hours / week

Upper Tantallon Family Practice: Part Time Registered Massage Therapist

We are a Family Wellness Practice looking for a motivated and passionate Registered Massage Therapist to join our practice on a part time basis (ideally would have Thursday afternoon/evening available among other times). Our practice has been established in the community for over 15 years, we have an existing client base and a 2-4 week wait list for massage with the right RMT. Part of our mission is to establish long term relationships with families in our community to empower and help educate them on a journey to greater health and a more vibrant life! You’ll be joining a team of three very passionate and knowledgeable Chiropractors who focus on family health, one Naturopathic Doctor who focuses on women’s and children’s health and two skilled Registered Massage Therapists with various areas of interest spanning prenatal care, women’s health, PTSD, sports recovery, injury recovery, juvenile conditions, manual lymphatic drainage, etc.

  • have experience in family care, maternal massage and myofascial release is beneficial but not necessary
  • be comfortable providing detailed homecare and ongoing treatment plans
